I heard mixed reviews of Robinwood and decided to try this place for lunch today. The place was clean, the waitress was super friendly, and It was promising, but the food was gross. The calamari was rubbery, but the best thing we had. Burgers were ordered medium and tasted weird. They were obviously frozen and not cooked all the way through. The sweet potato "fries" were huge chunks of greasy undercooked grossness. How can you mess up fries? The service was fast... maybe the breakfast is better? I'm willing to try them again, but I'm not really expecting much. I was excited about the idea of a cool little diner in JP, but this isn't even worth the cheap prices.

Solid, cheap diner/brunch food. I'm happy I have a friend who just moved to JP so that I can explore the area. We came here on Sunday for brunch and I was happy to find that Robinwood is your typical diner spot. Service was quick and I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. The sandwich was on a toasted bun, stacked with chicken breasts and came with a huge plate of fries. Everything was as expected and just what I wanted on a Sunday afternoon. My friends ordered breakfast (and omelet and an egg sandwich) and judging by everyone's clean plates I think brunch was enjoyed all around.

This place was one of the closer brunch locations near where I used to live. They are very friendly and will remember you if you visit often enough. Dining in is great! Seating is limited so they can be packed during the brunch rush. But! They serve breakfast all day, so if you're in need of sleeping in a good extra hours & want a later 'brunch,' this is the place. They have a large menu selection so, for the most part, everyone can find something they like. A favorite of mine is one of their breakfast dishes - 2 eggs, bacon (or ham or sausage), potatoes, and toast . Another is their chocolate pancakes - always hit the spot anytime I had the craving for it. Absolutely delicious and so cheap! Dining in is lovely, but ordering delivery from here is also wonderful! This is also a great place to pick up coffee if you're walking around the area. Good coffee and at a great price!

Solid food, but nothing special. This is about as typical as you can get for a diner. Eggs, potatoes, toast, and coffee. All with no frills. If that's what you're looking for, then great! The food tastes good, it's just nothing different. Quiet diner with lots of locals. I got the egg breakfast that included scrambled eggs, home fries, toast, and bacon as well as refillable coffee. It was very cheap too which is exactly what my student budget can afford. They have an expresso machine but don't seem sure on how to work it. My dad ordered a latte and it came out nothing like a latte. I'd stick to the house coffee. Cheaper and it's refillable. Parking is a serious issue. There's no lot and street parking is usually full. I wouldn't recommend driving here. The waitress was very friendly. She seemed to have most of the tables in the room but still took time to chat. She knew most of the locals in there and made an effort to say hello to everyone.

OK food. Fair prices. Nothing special. A happy surprise was the amount of bacon served with my meal. It was tasty but could have been cooked longer. I ordered rye toast but got white. I asked for fruit instead of home fries but got neither. Come here if you are in the area. Otherwise, go somewhere that has great breakfast.

Basic to pretty darn delicious breakfast, depending on what you order-- definitely take a chance on their specials and/or out of the ordinary items. Amazing milkshakes that are customizable. We've only been here for breakfast on both weekends (on the early side) and weekdays (on the later side), and it's been nice and quiet, even with other patrons (which is how I like it). Service is good, definitely looking forward to coming here more. Great place to have in our neighborhood! Oh and for summertime-- yes they do have A/C!

So, I ordered marinated steak tips, mash and spinach for my boyfriend. It was juicy and tender, he was happy. I ordered chicken pot pie for myself and after one bite could tell that the chicken had gone off, I tried a tiny bit more to be sure but it was definitely bad. I called and the manager (owner) apologized profusely, said she would throw the rest out and offered to deliver anything else free of charge. I got the meatloaf and it was on par with steak tips. I'm giving 4 stars because mistakes do happen, that's be expected, it was the fast and positive response that turned a potentially bad meal into a great one. I would order from them again and have been meaning to stop in for the brunch.

The food was all right and the service decent. The first place my friend and I sat smelled a little strange so we moved to another table. The place needed some TLC but looked like it could have been a great 50's summer soda shop with the ice cream stand, etc. Might try it again someday in a pinch.

When you walk in the door i notice the un-varnish floor which gave the place an awesome look. I love the booths they were made for big men like me to enjoy breakfast food on they also gave coats hooks on them which is convenient. I got the starter breakfast it included 2 eggs and your choice of sausage, bacon or ham. I got the sausages 2 scrambled eggs on wheat toast. Which made the plate awesome were the home fries well seasoned crispy. I would recommend this place. You'll see me again

We went to eat breakfast here. We sat on the bar stools. The service was okay. The food wasn't very appetizing. We will not return here for any other meals.

Just came here for the second time as the first time was OK. A small local place where everyone knows each other and everyone is friendly. Came here for breakfast and ordered a mushroom & bacon omlette with toast and "home fries". The omlette was a simple one which is not a bad thing. I had the same issue last time with the homefries though, as they had a strange after taste. They may have been old or even cooked another time and just reheated. The pancakes were good, nothing special. Friend had the pork fried steak which he said was good but not fresh. Simple diner with simple food. Prices are great and service is friendly.

Food is always good, and delivery is prompt. Servings are huge. I took off two stars for the following reasons: 1. One time they forgot my fries. I did ny notice until the delivery guy was gone and I really didn't feel like dealing with it so I didn't call or anything. 2. Their online menu and grubhub says they have coke and diet coke. Some people don't care but Pepsi is a NO for me. The (very nice) delivery guy showed up with a Pepsi and said they never have coke. I took the Pepsi because once again I didnt want to deal with it for $1.50. This can be an issue for people because if I'd known it was Pepsi I wouldn't have ordered it. Like I said before the food is good. Not amazing but satisfying enough for me to order from there twice. Never been in the actual restaurant even though it's down the street from me, I've heard breakfast is their thing.

We walked into this place for a quick breakfast and were pleasantly surprised! Decent prices, GREAT breakfast food and great service. Husband had an omelet and I had eggs/bacon - I got about 8 pieces of bacon with my eggs and that was amazing! Toast was weird and only toasted on one side, but all in all we loved it!

Went here to be served breakfast at 4pm one random Sunday. It was delicious. The waitress was super kind and considerate (in regards to my allergies and a mixup on the bill). The home fries were bomb. I'll definitely stop by again to try their lunch/dinner options but the fact that they serve breakfast all day already puts them in a good spot in my book.

Three lesbian witches walk into a cafe and are greeted with warm smiles, great coffee, and an impeccable menu of breakfast potentials. The first autumn wind swept through our hair, and we assessed the ambiance; peaceful, kind, casual.... We ordered the holy trinity of breakfast options. Omelette, pancakes, and a breakfast platter. The meal didn't change my life but it certainly offered a venue for a wonderful "changing of the seasons" moment. There was no need for artifice or coolness to this establishment.. It's just a diner that will provide you with the food and coffee to get on with your day... Easy in and easy out. If there was a favorite thing by which we three consumed, it was the coffee, which can all too often become an afterthought in diner establishments. The prices were cheap but the conversations were rich, and our bellies left full for the day to come. If you're just looking for a good ol' diner, great coffee, no frills, look no further! Blessed be!

Pretty good for a small, local diner. It's a good go-to place for Sunday brunch. I've never been with a big group, but with 2-3 people we are usually able to get seated pretty quickly. Omelettes, Egg Floretine and pancakes are all good. I also really like the home fries. They're the chunks of potatoes perfectly baked.

  • Emily T.

Food varies between okay and pretty good. It's cheap so this totally expected and acceptable. They have a pretty big menu - pretty much anyone will be able to find something they like here. I LOVE that they serve breakfast all day! It's nice having a diner so close by. Their fries are delicious, and pizza is pretty decent for Boston, though it only comes in one size - huge (cheap, though, so no complaints). Service is usually pretty friendly, but a bit slow. They're always really slow getting your check to you at the end, and can be bit negligent on refilling drinks. When the owner or his daughter are there they're both great and very friendly. I wouldn't go here if you're in a rush, but it's a great for a casual meal with friends or your significant other. There's almost always an open table, but there are only 2 booths that can easily fit more than 4 people, so be prepared for the possibility of a wait if you have a group over 4.

So glad we tried this place. It was moderately busy on a recent Sunday morning BUT...no wait. Comfy, cozy, and great food. and cheap. great service both times as well. There's not much else I need in a breakfast place. Portions were big and filling. I could not finish. Pancakes were enormous. Food came out shockingly fast (I know, I know, breakfast food is easy/quick, but still a delight when you are as hungry as I was! Tip: get the coffee milkshake. Oh yeah, and no wait for all of this deliciousness. Holy Moly...

5 stars because it's a diner and finding a decent regular diner in Boston makes you feel like you just saw a shooting star. Real good French toast and other diner stuff, a steady stream of weirdos who come in and hit on the waitresses who put up with it. It's nice to have a place in JP I can get breakfast without having to read a paragraph description under an omlete explaining that the "eggs are locally sourced from Moonlight River Ranch in Methuen" or "Our Manchengo is rennet free, lovingly made by a feminist monk colony in Lawrence". In fact, the is a kickass error on the menu that says I can add cheese to my pancakes for a dollar. Then the co-owner said to the cook in Spanish "you can't get cheese on your pancakes!" He answers "you can if you want" so I guess it isn't an error. So in conclusion, come in and get the pancakes with cheese.

I generally come here once a week for breakfast...which is available during all hours. Positives: price; usually fairly easy to find parking; only two occasions where there was a wait so I chose to leave; consistent for what it is; one of the few places in the area that serves breakfast; portions are good Negatives: NO AIR CONDITIONING - it gets damn hot in here sometimes; the wait service isn't great (i.e. they generally forget to refill my coffee or do something inconsiderate/inconvenient); the potatoes / toast are very bland and tasteless, but they get the job done. I will keep going back here for the convenience and a quick bite. I am getting a little tired of the bland eggs, toast, and potatoes though...sometimes even the usual staples need some flavor.

I have to update my review because the place is under new ownership, and the new place is a million times better than the old -- Nicer people, better service, better food, more character. Here's my old review, BTW: I've had raw tofu that had more flavor than the chicken in my sandwich. Thick chunks of supermarket vegtables adorned the meal thoughtlessly.. You know there's a problem dinerwise if you're constantly thinking, "I could do better than this." I was also thinking I should have sent the sandwich back, safetywise, the texture of the chicken being so textureless. I'd love to give them an extra star for elderly regulars including a man singing songs from the turn of the century, but 48-hour bout of food poisoning sort of cancels that out. They had nice looking pies, which got me somewhat excited. But alas, like apparently everything else on the menu, it's not made in-house.

I went to Robinwood for breakfast today. First time. My girlfriend wanted to try it out because of all the favorable reviews on Yelp. We, unfortunately, did not have the same experience as most of you. I ordered a vegetarian omelet; a runny mess (a first for me -- I didn't know that was possible) which looked like it was cobbled together from the scraps of another breakfast. Seriously, folks -- if you don't know how to make an omelet, don't sell me one. I also got home fries which were flaccid and bland. My girlfriend ordered the "Centre Street", a meal apparently comprised of two runny scrambled eggs, "sad" bacon, "even sadder" home fries, but with good French toast...ruined by fake maple syrup-in-a-packet. End result: We couldn't finish our disappointing meals and left early. My girlfriend felt a little sick. When we go out for breakfast, it's usually to the Dogwood Cafe on Washington. Their prices can be a little much for what they offer, so we thought we'd try for something cheaper but promising. Robinwood was that choice; we regret it. (Though our waitress was nice.)

The Robinwood has earned a spot in my breakfast/brunch rotation. Nothing super exceptional, the Robinwood serves the standard brunch/breakfast fare at reasonable prices. The server was friendly and attentive. I had an omelette that was loaded with fresh veggies and came with a side of hash browns. The portions were large, I swear they must've given my friend 1/2lb of bacon! I tend to judge brunches by the hash browns & as my rating states... A-OK! Yes, they are different... more of thinly sliced potatoes, but they were yummy; no overcooked/burnt potato chunks.

A fine, little cafe but don't expect miracles... I went here on Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty much empty, which I actually appreciate because other brunch spots in JP are balls crowded and usually come with a 30+ minute wait...F that. I ordered a greek salad and an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. My date got the 2 egg breakfast sandwich and an order of french toast, carby i know! Our waiter was really nice and professional, and you can tell it's a family run business. Less than 10 minutes after ordering, he came back with three egg and cheese sandwiches and informed us that the chef misread the ticket and made 2 egg and cheese sandwiches instead of a 2 egg sandwich, make sense? So we got a free sandwich which is cool. My greek salad also came with a gigantic portion of tasty garlic bread (not mentioned on the menu) so more free food! Gotta love that. The food is fine, not out of this world, or very creative, but it's just a simple greek/american diner so don't expect gorgonzola or pine nuts in your omelet. The prices are very reasonable. This place is still a little rough around the edges...a waiter slipped and fell on the recently mopped floor which could have easily been a customer. The decor feels like it was all bought from big lots, including fake old timey photos on the walls, which is not as fun as actual kitschy decor that comes with older, more established diners. Oh yeah, and this annoying woman, who must be a regular, came in for a coffee with her dog under her arm, swinging a bag of dog poo around which really grossed me out. I wish they had kicked her out for not only bringing her dog into the restaurant but also a bag of shit.

Having lived in JP for about a decade now, I have become accustomed to walking past this spot quickly, since the old joint was full of gross men and was clearly a front. So I was really excited when Robinwood took over and revamped the place into a cute diner. But I hadn't stopped in yet, maybe out of habit. But today, rather than gorge myself at the Indian buffet, I decided to check out this place and get some brunch. There was no line and the menu offered the staples at reasonable prices. I ordered a cheese omlette, which was cooked like an omlette should be. A little underdone. The potatoes were very good, subtly seasoned and with lots of crispy bits, which I really enjoy. I tried my gf's pancakes, which were excellent. They had a little cinnamon sugar on them and weren't too dense, and sopped up the syrup very nicely. Coffee was solid, and our adorable waitress made sure I didn't go thirsty. Yeah, we kind of fell in love with the waitress. She was so darn friendly and into the place and the food, it was great. The only negative I noticed was that the kitchen staff seemed to have a staring problem and that kinda creeped me out. But the waitress's jovial nature totally made up for that. Her cute pants helped too. And her hair. And tattoos. Ok, maybe I'm the creep and not the kitchen staff.

Have been coming here a couple years with my kids as the other two breakfast places are way too cramped. Big booths, nice waitstaff and clean establishment. Easy to find street parking usually. I have to say the food was never the greatest, but they changed hands recently and I saw a drastic improvement in the grub. Fries are great now and both my recent sandwiches have been a lot better than their prior versions.

I went for brunch on a Sunday afternoon with two girlfriends, and I was pretty impressed. I remember it as the hole in the wall pizza place, and wow did they renovate it! They put in cherry wood/black leather benches, opened it up, and there wasn't a crumb on the floor. We sat down and were immediately greeted by a very friendly (and cute!) waiter. We all asked for iced coffee, which is my ultimate test because I always want soy milk and places NEVER have it. But to my surprise not only did they have it, but the waiter was kind enough to bring over the entire carton. Thanks man! I ordered the Original Triple, and for only $6 I got hash browns, rye toast with butter, three scrambled eggs, and sausage links. Everything was pretty damn good! Fluffy eggs, hash browns were crunchy on the outside and tender in the middle, and although everything had some butter it wasn't super greasy or over salted (there were no "our food sucks so let's just add more butter/salt" tricks going on). The service was great - we were never without water, condiments, and the bill came right away but he told us to kick back, relax, and take our time. He was all smiles and I haven't seen service that friendly in a while. I would definitely go back, and I love that this place is super close to me. Next time I'm trying the pancakes!

It pains me to do this, but the Robinwood's new management offers no choice. Since my last visit, which already looked through some of the Robinwood's flaws to the great diner beneath, something has gone horribly wrong. Pancakes that were at least hot and griddle fresh now seem lukewarm and rubbery. Bacon that wasn't high grade to begin with is rendered into a lifeless jerky. Potatoes that had something wrong with the oil, but were at least tasty, now are bland and grainy. What. Did. You. Do?! New management seemed determine to maintain staples of the menu, but also seemed to downgrade what were already SYSCO offerings to some lower form of industrial foodstuff. As mentioned in the last review, I grew up with Jersey diners and have grown accustomed to various ends of the foodservice spectrum, but this was one cost cut to far. There also seems to be a dramatic misreading of the neighborhood's taste. Getting rid of the tattooed servers and having everyone appear in Robinwood T-shirts? Not an upgrade. Wi-fi in the dining room? Not an upgrade. Delivery: When you've reduced the food to something people don't want to visit for, never mind order via delivery, that's also not an upgrade. Ownership seems to think that switching milkshakes to mochi and offering a broader, more worldly array of items in the drink fridge will right all that was "wrong" with the old Robinwood. That couldn't be further from the case. Instead, it just seems like a half-assed, uninspired attempt at an Asian-fusion diner that management just couldn't carry off. By taking the exact opposite approach to food that detractors were hoping for -- maybe some whole grain pancake offerings or the occasional farm-fresh egg dish -- and destroying the dishes that made its defenders into regular customers, the Robinwood has pulled off the incredible feat of making a mediocre but loveable place about 100 times worse. I still think it's ridiculous to wait on a line at Centre Street Cafe that's so long that customers wouldn't all be seated even if everybody in the restaurant stood up and walked out at the same time. However, I can no longer bring myself to breakfast at Robinwood solely on the merits of its diner set up. The staples are lacking and the "fusion" dishes like Japanese curry are better done elsewhere. I've resumed my diner search elsewhere, but my neighborhood is the lesser for the Robinwood's failures. There are no diners here.

Have I ever been here for any meal other than breakfast/ brunch? No. Would I go to Robinwood for any meal other than breakfast/ brunch? Probably not. But location has everything to do with that: I'd rather just have dinner down the street somewhere fancy-like. For breakfast/ brunch, however, this is THE place to go in JP. It's the only place where I can get a simple diner breakfast, straight up and to the point, no frills, no concerns about whether I'm making the yuppy-JP-hipsters happy with my all-organic, locally farmed eggs. It's just BREAKFAST. It's cheap, it's a little greasy, and it cures a hangover better than Gatorade. Finally- shout-out to the staff. ALWAYS friendly service, and my food always arrives quickly. Plus they tend to give out small baked goods when you check-out: bonus.

Went here for breakfast with some friends on our way south to Long Island. Decent...might consider going back there for something other than breakfast. I got the french toast with strawberries, I really wanted waffles but they didn't have waffles! : O When I got the plate, I was a little shocked. They weren't very fresh looking strawberries...it was pie filling from a can with all of the gelatinous stuff with it. Gross. The french toast was mediocre...I could have made some at home if I really wanted that. My friend ordered one of their special breakfast type things...everything looked decent, but I didn't try any of it. Other than the strawberries on the french toast it seems okay. It's very clean. They also offer a lot of different lunch type things, like pizza, so it'd be interesting to see how they taste.

Solid dinner. Comfy feel. Food is good. Breakfast was fine. Only complaint: toast was soggy. Service was great and the price was fair. I am glad they are here, HUGE improvement over the dump that was there before.

I've been back a few times now, and I'm a happy customer -- and contrary to Frownyface N's paranoia that anyone who disagrees with her must be a mole, I do not work there :) Coffee is good, and my wife loves their gyros. Only knock is that their homefries are, um, weird. Staff is very friendly.

I like this place. I like it in the way you like something that isn't great but means well and is trying to be better. Like a puppy that just messed on the rug. I like the endearingly awkward and forgetful service. I like the artwork that screams "restaurant supply company purchase." I like the attempts to make it look comfy and lived in when everything is new. Which is not to say I love the place, or even that the food is particularly good. The prices are fairly reasonable at $3+ for a breakfast sandwich and $8+ for an omelette. The server will always forget to bring something you asked for, or will leave behind something that was not meant for your table. The coffee ranges from terrible to mediocre. It's a diner, basically. I imagine the service will become more polished over time, and the atmosphere will move from brand-spankin'-new to worn-in. And I will continue to occasionally stop by.

It kills me to do this, really it does. I primarily use Yelp to shower the love and I especially hate to damage the rating of a local business but I'm really hoping the management of the Robinwood reads this because something has to be done to save that place. I'm a transplant from NJ- the land of the diner so when the Robinwood first opened I was ecstatic and while it had its issues it still got the diner job done for me. The management changed a while back and three strikes later I'm here to review. First visit after change: minor menu changes, slight disorganization but all to be expected in any change right? The big strike here was that the food was just not as good.. The potatoes were always hit or miss but these were just a firm miss and i felt funky the rest of the day. I figured it was a fluke... 2nd try- ordered take-out with a friend visiting from out of town. We went in to pick it up. Half the order was ready and the other wasn't so we waited, chatting with the friendly staff. Get the food home and discover the that half that was ready first is ice cold and the half that was ready second is missing food. We call about the missing food and the staff gave us a hard time about asking them to deliver it as we really didn't want to head back out to correct their mistake. And then there was hair in the food... my friend advised me to write off the Robinwood...Strike 2 3rd try- this morning/early afternoon I'm walking home up Centre and decide it would be nice to pick up some bacon and eggs for brunch. I pop in, order my food and and iced coffee and commence waiting. While I wait I observe that they are woefully understaffed. Tables sat dirty for ages while customers (including an elderly couple leaning on canes and a walker) hovered over them getting increasingly annoyed. One waitress ran around frantically while another one just seemed annoyed by everything. I watched a girl wait 25 minutes for a bagel with cream cheese and then realized I had been waiting 40 minutes for 2 scrambled eggs and 3 strips of bacon (no toast no potatoes) Due to the dirty table situation there weren't a ton of orders in so I couldn't figure out what was going on but I knew standing awkwardly in a diner doorway while people got annoyed all around me was no way to spend a beautiful Memorial Day afternoon so I headed up to the register to pay for my iced coffee and get out of there. It is then and only then that I overheard the waitress inform another customer that they were OUT OF EGGS. THERE WERE NO EGGS. Someone had been sent out to procure eggs but it would be quite a wait for eggs... I had been standing within 10 feet of the waitresses this whole time and no one at any time thought to let me know that the food that I was waiting for DID NOT EXIST. This was when I crossed the line from pity to disgust. What the hell?! Strike 3 you're out. I was pulling for you Robinwood, really I was but you have to try too and from what I saw today you just aren't. HIRE MORE STAFF. Yes, I know, staff costs money but you know what brings in money? Happy paying customers. You used to have to wait for a table at the Robinwood not because they were dirty and no one was cleaning them/the pissed off waitress was ignoring you but because they were full of happy people eating pancakes.

your food is so bad it causes marital problems. what possessed you to put aspertain and strawberry flavored glue on heavy dry Bisquick pancakes? how do you serve bacon cool and fatty for a well-done order? did you get the memo that coffee does not have to be burnt and nasty just because you are a diner? why, oh, why is it literally 80 degrees in here? are the seniors that hang out here trying to asphyxiate themselves? how do you propose to charge $10 for a breakfast entree that is for people who do not care for food or flavor and just need to fill the void??! your establishment makes me cry. i should have waited till the other joints that give a care opened. :*( is life really this bad?

This is my go -to for brunch. It reminds me of an lazy Sunday morning/afternoon stack of pancakes or a big omelet and coffee. YUM! Lunch and dinner are also good and filling. The fries are amazing! No complaints at all! The baked stuff in the case is great, and the milkshakes are a cool treat. A hole in the wall JP gem! Friendly attentive staff, clean place, wonderful food!

I've gone to Robinwood Cafe twice. The first time I went and had breakfast food and it was great. I really regretted going to Robinwood the second time. I ordered a turkey and Swiss burger with sides of broccoli and macaroni and cheese. The burger was okay but the steamed broccoli was gross. The broccoli was brown and worse, it was cooked too long. The macaroni and cheese was disgusting. It was like melted cheese on pasta. I even had my boyfriend try the mac and cheese b/c I thought I might be being fussy...he agreed that it was beyond awful. Overall, I think that Robinwood is a great place to go to for breakfast. However, I would definitely stay away from it for any meal other than breakfast.

A number of breakfasts at a couple places left us wanting something different. The Yelp reviews aren't all that strong but we were talking with our waitress today and the current owners bought the place a year ago and are still trying to get out from the reputation of the old ownership. Breakfast is served all day but they don't have a huge selection of breakfast items. Mostly it's standard diner food, there's no whole-grain this nor blueberry walnut that. Bacon, eggs, toast homefries and pancakes. Actually, there's frenchtoast too which is really good. We've been twice and had basically the same meal. A couple eggs any way you want, choice of bacon, sausage or ham, toast, homefries and pancakes or frenchtoast. Everything was cooked exactly to order and was brought out promptly by a very friendly staff. The pancakes and frenchtoast were both terrific and the sausage was also very tasty. The coffee is radioactively hot. This last time I put a couple ice cubes from my water glass in just to make it drinkable and the homefries are kinda bland. The place is clean and bright and as I said our waitress have both been very prompt and spot-on with everything we ordered. If you want simple diner food at a great price, go check them out some morning.

This spot is under new management since the end of September, so disregard everything written before that. They are really trying to turn the place around. The several Japanese and Italian dishes are really good. Steak tips are awesome. The baked goods are fresh. The new owners are making a difference. Breakfasts are great(line out the door on weekends). They're working on the dinners. Give the place a chance. We're in the neighborhood and are really happy to see the changes. Prices are really reasonable.

New ownership, same underwhelming food. This place is great if you're in the mood for 1970's era cafeteria food. I had the blue dot pancakes (supposedly blueberry pancakes) and they were tasteless, somehow chewy, and just plain awful. My girlfriend had the same and felt the same. Neither of us finished a single pancake. For some reason, we keep trying this place and hoping it's different, no more.

They had me at "Breakfast served all day". It's a super cheap eat. We got two huge breakfast platters (french toast, corn beef has, the works), and two massive fountain drinks for under $20.00. Perfect comfort food. I'm also very excited to see them in this part of JP, which definitely will benefit from more business. I will definitely be making this my go-to joint on Saturday and Sunday mornings!

The Robinwood Cafe definitely had some growing pains when it opened, but I am here to tell you that those days are behind them. The food and service are now excellent, and I can personally endorse the Ruben (served dry) and waffles. Dee-lectable. This is great option if Sorellos or Centre St Grill are too busy.

This place has amazing pancakes, some great baristas making espresso drinks and a super positive staff. I'm so glad to have another breakfast option in JP, I'm sick of waiting in line at Centre Street Cafe and Sorellas. I've been here 4 times now and have never had a negative experience. I highly reccomend trying the greek dishes they make for dinner specials.

JP needed a good basic diner, and we got one. Don't go there for fine dining, go there for a basic breakfast of eggs and toast, or maybe a sub.

The best sort of venue comparison I can think to make about the Robinwood is Monk's Cafe on Seinfeld. Nothing on the menu here is out-of-this-world spectacular, but most of it (or at least everything I've had) is very good. The home fries leave much to be desired, but I'm not a big on home fries to begin with, so this was a marginal loss for me. Robinwood Cafe is a good place to go when you're not sure what you're in the mood for, because you can get a reasonably satisfying facsimile of just about any dish for a fair price, and a decent cup of coffee to boot.

I like this place for what it is - an easy neighborhood joint with decent food. I can take my 1 year old there without any problems, and the service is good. A couple of weeks ago I went for lunch, but got pancakes (breakfast served all day, every day.) they were hands down the BEST pancakes I've ever had. truly delicious. The food isn't gourmet, but it's solid, and a worthwhile stop if you're in the neighborhood.

Have gone several times and I love the food here, mainly the breakfasts and lunch wraps. For breakfast I LOOOOOOVE the chocolate chip pancakes. It's my guilty pleasure. I also like the sausage and bacon for when I really don't care how many calories I am consuming. The prices are cheap and they have various breakfast deals. For lunch, my favorites are the chicken parm sub and the chicken caesar wrap. FYI the dinners are huge. Be prepared for a full house on weekends brunch time, but worth it. I could never figure out why people would wait a long time down the street to eat. Oh well. Really like the waitstaff here.

We were excited to see this space cleaned up and serving a broad menu throughout the day. Gave it a try for breakfast and was disappointed in the food. The quality of ingredients was just not there; even the toast was bad. My guess is they are buying the cheap bulk products from the a distributor like Sysco. Some careful sourcing on things like the bacon and their breads would go a long way. None of my party (crammed into a weird two seat booth with a chair on the end) found our respective dishes very exciting. The fact that they didn't even have real maple syrup available just confirmed that they aren't concerned about flavor and food quality. I don't mind paying for maple--have it available! I want to see another place like this in the neighborhood and hope they success, so I'll give them another try after they've had a few months to improve their formula.

Don't let the facade scare you away, it is clean and pleasant inside with a great espresso machine and good service. I'd stick to starches/meats and avoid vegetables...but who goes to a diner to eat vegetables?

I hate to say it but ive done breakfast here a half dozen times, the same problems persist, despite the GREAT SERVICE, deep fried bacon is a lazy no-no, boiled potatoes have color but ZERO FLAVOR, please pay closer attention to the basics and i'll be back..

Robinwood, I love you. You are my family. My girlfriend and I try to limit ourselves to one visit a week and sometimes we fail. Miserably. We leave smelling like bacon grease and pancakes but it makes our whole day. Everyone around us, not so much. We've only been in for breakfast foods but everything we've seen on others' plates looks fantastic. Tip: If you don't want the homefries, you can sub fruit for them. Cheap, quick, friendly, DELICIOUS. I want to subtract a star for the owner and how rude he was to me, but that's not anyone's fault but his own. I asked my server for another cup of coffee (unlimited refills) and said mine tasted a bit burnt (not actually burnt..but that cup just not tasting right) and he overheard and snapped back, "Your coffee can't be burnt. It's impossible." e x c u s e me.

I have lived in JP for years and years and never knew about this little gem! I am totally addicted to the french toast, three pieces of yummy french toast with fluffy middle and crispy edges, SO good! PROs: The "Center Street": Your choice of two pancakes or two pieces of french toast, your choice of bacon, sausage or ham, two eggs your choice, it comes with home fries and toast... It was shocking how much food you get for $9. One con of this, there wasn't any fresh fruit... Fries: If you order anything with fries here make sure you ask for the "regular fries" they are crispy and delicious-so good they don't even need ketchup. Service: All the servers are terrific, it is seat yourself and they are right there with water and menus. It is a neighborhood supported spot so many of the patrons are local visitors... even if you're new to Robinwood they make you feel like you are a regular. Burger: huge and a cross between back yard grilled and diner fried. There are a lot of great burgers in JP but this one is a little more comfort food style. Club Sandwich: My go to lunch because its enough for two meals and it's only $8. A club seems like it would be easy to make but so many places screw it up. This one has the right amount of bacon and mayonaise on your choice of toasted bread with fresh greens and tomatoes. Menu: All day breakfast, something for everyone (you get steak tips and I'll have french toast) Magic Bars: I think that's what they call them, they are your typical seven layer/five layer bars but they are made to perfection... you get enough for two people and it is $2.50!!!! The Elder Folks: There is an assisted living place across the street so a lot of regulars come in mid day from the facility. One lady who is a regular always seems to ask (at 11:30am) for a martini... I just love watching the staff remind her they don't serve them. CONs: Cannoli: HORRIBLE, take them off the menu please. Booths The booths are not comfortable for a small person to sit in, you end up two feet away from the table... so if you're little sit at a table. Decor: Some of the objects are a little too country for the space. If they want help with an update they should let me know-I'd work for french toast. FINAL THOUGHTS: This place blows Sorella's out of the water, the food is terrific and you don't have to compete with a 32 page menu. You can't beat the value anywhere in Boston. I love supporting local businesses.

Relax, breakfast/lunch/dinner can make you feel better. Well, it did for me after having these three meals here (not on the same day). This is a 5 star location for service, they deal with a rush well, are super nice, but you will not have to have a long personal conversation if you don't want to. Delivery and take-out (which can be done online for the anti-social) work well but the booths, casual atmosphere and casual rock make this a great outing, even in moderately clean sweat pants. Breakfast - they do bacon perfectly and you will get a lot of it. People seemed really into the pancakes, they were everywhere like in that story Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. Sadly, the eggs florentine committed the highest sin of any benedict, one of the eggs was overcooked and hard. Such a waste of a potential chicken. That's the only bad thing I have to say though. Portions are huge, which I'm told is a good thing in America. It is harvest season somewhere on the globe! Lunch - I had some fish n chip action. The fish is very very good, better than a lot of pubs. The chips were not my favorite, but that's because they are coated with seasoning which I am anti. Most people are pro. Potato skins are generous and feature the same, but later-cooked, perfect bacon from breakfast. Also had carrot cake which was a giant super moist slice of better than my mom used to make. Dinner - I got the chicken bento box and it was great, I ate it too fast. We also got a pizza. I love East Coast diners that seem to keep a recipe from cooks or owners past so as a patron you're presented with a choice between Italian, Japanese and Greek. It's very impractical for food costs but we need irrational things in this world to keep from becoming machines. So bravo.

2 1/2 stars if only I could. I wasn't impressed with the breakfast here. I ordered the starter which came with 2 eggs, home fries, and toast. This is my usual order for breakfast pretty much anywhere. I had the option to change the toast for a bagel. I have to say that bagel saved the meal and what kicked this up a star. They grill it and I love a grilled bagel. My hubby also enjoyed his grilled bagel bacon egg and cheese sandwich and I respect his opinion. What bothered me so much is what seems like an occurring problem mentioned in other reviews. The eggs. I ordered them over easy and what I can't stand is when the whites are wayyy too runny. It was barely cooked and I was turned off for the rest of the meal. The joint is small but cozy and they have some baked goods that looked yummy. I might give them another try but only if I'm in the area.

My favorite JP breakfast place. Standard fare but prepared very well (hash browns but tasty hash browns, pancakes but fluffy, delicious, melt in your mouth pancakes, onion rings but fat, juicy on the inside, crunchy on the outside onion rings) very cheaply priced, and has the friendliest waiters in town. A warm, friendly, funky place I choose to meet friends for well prepared, sumptuous portions of delicious comfort food without feeling rushed out the door. I'd be heartbroken if this place ever disappeared from the neighborhood.

I ate here a couple of Sundays ago with a friend for brunch. We arrive around 1:20 pm, and our order wasn't even taken (not even a beverage order) until almost 2. It was after 2:20 - a full hour later - before we got out food, and even then, our server forgot my friend's juice. Our server kept making excuses about how their computer system went down or they were super busy, but tables who came in after us who were seated in other sections got their food and finished eating long before we even received our orders! A table of two guys who were sitting near us waited equally as long for their food - they came in immediately after us and had JUST received their orders when we finished and finally left (after waiting another extremely long time to pay, in spite of being seated directly next to the register!) The food wasn't very good at all, and the overall experience was not a pleasant one. We had only even gone to Robinwood because we were so hungry that we didn't want to wait in the line at Centre Street, but after how long we waited anyway, we seriously regretted not just waiting there. We won't be returning to Robinwood. Ugh.

I just went here today with my boyfriend for the first time. I moved to JP about a year ago and have been finding I love all the restaurants and vibes here, but I always seemed a little iffy about this place for some reason. But, they offered all day breakfast, which was what we both really wanted at 3 in the afternoon. I gotta say I was pretty impressed! I wasn't sure if the prices would be worth the meal, but they give you a LOT of food! My boyfriend got The Starter, which he ate all but 3 home fries of. And I got The Center St. I've read a lot of reviews of the eggs being bad, but maybe that was with the last owner? He got scrambled and I got over easy and they were both pretty good! I really liked my French Toast! It was thick and cooked well, and covered in cinnamon sugar! Wish they had real maple syrup? But what can I say? I don't even have it at home, too expensive! The service was good too, though we did come at the slowest time of the day for restaurants. As soon as we came in someone greeted us and told us we could sit wherever we liked, and our waitress came over right away. She was really nice, knew what she was doing and was really chill about everything. I will definitely come back when I need some breakfast that's only a 5 minute drive away!

I don't like to wait in line for food... that is not considered "fast." I've never experienced any food worth waiting in a line for while you're inside a sit-down restaurant. The food here is inexpensive, so definitely a plus for JP. I had the French toast, which was good. Very sweet. I also ordered a side of bacon, which was crisp without too much fat on it. The service was speedy, particularly for that side of bacon, which I ordered after I placed my original order for the toast. Maybe I'll try it at another time of day, when there's less of a line to eat.

First off, let me just say that this is my first Yelp Review. I didn't even have a Yelp account until now, but after last nights dining experience at "Robinwood Cafe and Grille", I felt compelled to create one. Okay so this place has only been open for a few weeks or so, but seriously they should change their name to "ROBINWORST", because that's what it is. The former tenant, Planet Pizza, was a few steps up from this. Upon first glance, the Robinwood is a bit deceiving. Its a cutesy little cafe, with what appears to be an espresso bar to the side, with a few friendly smiling waitresses behind the counter..who were SHOCKED that my party of four was actually going to sit down and order dinner instead of a few coffees... The menu is all over the place. Open from 6 am to 10 pm daily. They offer breakfast anytime, but also, sandwiches anytime, pizza anytime, appetizers anytime, desserts anytime, and dinner entrees anytime... way too much going on. We should have known we were in for a shit show when the cheese fries came out all sweaty and fucked up...and in a sub roll with bacon? To be fair, the chicken fingers were excellent, and appeared to be hand cut and breaded, instead of frozen tenders. The french fries they were served with though, were soggy and undercooked. The fingers alone earn the one star rating that I'm giving this place...and the chocolate milkshake was pretty good too. Dinner was absolutely disgusting. Ive worked in food service for a good amount of years, but It doesn't take a Chef Gordon Ramsay to spot laziness in the kitchen... I would NEVER serve a meal like this to a customer and expect them to pay for it. it was horrible. Almost reminiscent of airplane food. The "Robinwood chicken" is to be avoided at all costs...A boiled piece of frozen sysco chicken topped with a sweaty piece of cheese, cold canned mushrooms and about 6 pieces of greasy bacon...seved with a side of instant mashed potatoes, topped with canned gravy..., and a microwaved corn on the cob swimming in a gallon of melted butter (that arrived about 15 minutes after the chicken) for 10 dollars!?!?! The Cuban sandwich? Actually just bologna and some sort of ketchup sauce on a stale sub roll...(which apparently last night was masquerading as a paninni.) Don't call it a Cuban, if its not a Cuban. My party of four didn't even eat about 70% of the food that was served to us...Just stared at it and took pictures with our cellphones. Our waitress asked us if everything was okay, clearly knowing that it wasn't. We told her she was friendly and had a nice smile, and left it at that. She didn't even offer to comp any of the "food" or give us a discounted bill, but seeing as how this place just opened up, I didn't expect that. We did leave her a good tip. Felt so bad for this poor girl. There were several managment/owner types in the kitchen, but nobody came over to see how our meal was. We were the only table in the place, and they couldn't even have been bothered to ask us how we liked the food, or even ask us what we didn't like. McDonald's looks like a fine dining establishment compared to this place. Unless they get their shit together and focus on ONE THING (maybe just breakfast, or just pizza, or just sandwiches), this place will be gone in no time.

Service is slow as f******k (like really bad) but food is fantastic and cheap. Great for vegetarians. If I had to rate it for service, I'd give it 0 stars but the food and the price really makes up for it. Other stupid things include: charging you 75 cents for an extra pickle O.o

Service was great and so were the big portions. I got the plate I think was called early bird I don't remember. I know it came with choice of pancakes or frenchtoast,2 eggs, choice of meat and automatically comes today home fries and toast. I got French toast dazzled with powdered sugar and cinnamon a nice touch. The home fries are crispy and seasoned just how I like em, bacon portions were massive. I dig this place for the service and great food.

This is my spot - although JP has dozens of amazing brunch places, I will say that robinwood is a solid choice. It delivers what it pitches - a solid diner experience. The wait staff are all hipsters and local kids - that discuss partying and weekend shenanigans and happily will talk about their weekend plans with you. The two owners are related through marriage and do a good job of keeping the place well organized. It has free wifi, and they don't care if you sit there all day taking up an entire booth by yourself. What more do you want?

I try not to review places on just one visit as I never have much to say. Well, I still do not have much to say but felt that I must let everybody know that this place has Japanese Curry. Japanese Curry is my favorite Japanese dish and is usually hard to find (both Japanese places in JP do not have it). I had it with the panko shrimp (likely frozen, but was fine). The curry was great, the potatoes were cooks splendidly and the rice was cooked well. I will get this dish again and will try their other Japanese dishes (they had 3 or 4 total). A nice Japanese lady went back and helped the cook with the meal (seems to me this is brand new to them) and then made sure I liked it. I did. If I get other items (and I will eventually as they have won my business with this one dish) I will update and give a full review and rating. This 4 star review was for the Curry, the fact that they have fresh brewed iced tea and how nice they were. I vouch for nothing else!

So, I used to come here for cheap, pretty decent for a diner breakfast. I have a soft spot for diner breakfast. Not anymore. I hadn't been since before summer, so I decided to go in for a well-needed hangover cure. I ordered eggs (poached), bacon, and toast. My friend ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese on a roll. The waitress didn't really know what a roll was. "White bread?" she asked. "A bagel?" she guessed. "You mean, like a hamburger bun?" she tried. He settled for a bagel. Anyway, my poached eggs - carried by a new waitress- came out in a small dish, lukewarm, floating in a bit of what we now lovingly call "Egg Water". His sandwich came on white bread with bacon. I didn't even get any coffee refills. New Waitress didn't know how to count change ($20 minus $10 is not $4, right?) and I was too hungover and annoyed to even care that she basically tipped herself over 50%. My fault for leaving in a huff rather than arguing. But too much scotch the night before turns me into a cranky old man, I've learned that now. I miss when their pancakes tasted like actual cake and the coffee was just crummy enough to allow you to think it's helping you get over your Friday night. I thought maybe the new management sign would mean that it got better, but it's seemed to have gotten lazier.

Solid if unextraordinary Greek-American diner with a broad three-meal menu. Every region of America has cheap-eats specialties it can be proud of. On this score, Boston boasts great range in traditional cuisines from all over the world. It's not hard to find terrific family-run places serving fine Salvadoran, Portuguese, Tibetan, Haitian, and Taiwanese fare, made mostly by ex-pats for fellow ex-pats, and hence not dumbed-down too much for American palates. But for some reason, New Jersey seems to have gotten all the great diners. The diner -- that hallowed bastion of old-time Americana, the predecessor to modern fast-food joints -- is simply not one of our long suits. In this relatively weak field, Robinwood Café & Grille, a Jamaica Plain diner, executes solidly on the standbys. Take a classic breakfast plate like the Centre Street ($9): two eggs, ham, bacon or sausage, home fries, toast, and two pancakes. The eggs are properly cooked, the ham well-grilled if a bit on the deli-thin side, the potatoes copious if not particularly crisp or well-seasoned, the pancakes plate-size and dense. (You can request pure maple syrup, which is recommended.) It's workmanlike, substantial. Breakfast sandwiches -- like sausage, egg, and cheese ($3.50) on an oversize grilled bagel -- are tasty, fast, and portable, with a welcome bit of grease. At lunch, the Robinwood Burger ($8, plus 50 cents for cheese) tops a good bun with eight ounces of beef cooked to the proper internal temperature, plus lettuce, tomato, and onion; a bit of cole slaw flanks a big pile of fries with a crisp sprayed-on coating. Sandwiches ($5-$6) include well-stuffed if unremarkable subs, wraps, and panini, from chicken salad to eggplant parm. Entrées include meatloaf ($13), a generous slab accompanied by suspiciously smooth mashed potatoes and previously frozen broccoli, though the meat is dry enough to need the accompanying gloopy brown gravy. Sirloin tips ($12) are more successful: a sweet-marinated fistful of grilled flap steak chunks with sautéed onions and green peppers, plus mounds of rice and fries. The deep fryer turns out heart-straining platters like the Robinwood Sampler ($10): chicken wings, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, fries, and onion rings. Beverages include good filter coffee ($1.80), fountain sodas ($2), fruit juices ($2.50), and frappes (listed as "milk shakes," $4) made on an old-timey spindle mixer. The room is modern, spacious, bright, and spotlessly clean, with somewhat leisurely and unfailingly friendly service -- there's a genuine-seeming sweetness when a server calls you "honey." Occupying a middle stratum between our crummier greasy spoons and pricier, gourmet pseudo-diners, the Robinwood does what it does: hoe the well-worn Greek-American diner furrow with adequate skill and respectable value. In these parts, that's about as much as a diner patron can ask for.

This place is about a block away from my front door, so the location is just right for me. But it has a lot of other things going for it - cheap, totally unpretentious, and good greasy spoon food. Breakfast is the highlight, but I also enjoy the fish and chips and some of the other dinner items. This is a very decent neighborhood place that doesn't try too hard to be anything else.

this place is your go-to unpretentious diner on a saturday morning after a night of drinking. cheap, greasy food with friendly servers, unlimited coffee refills, breakfast all day, and huge omelettes. the food isn't anything special, but who's to complain when you have a massive hangover?

Simple but good standard American fare. Service can be a bit slow at times but the waitstaff is always nice. Best place in JP to get breakfast. Pancakes are hands down best thing on the menu; light, fluffy, and delicious. What my ratings mean: 1 star: Horrible. I'm annoyed I wasted my time and/or money here. 2 star: Not bad but nothing special. A decent place if you can't find something else. I'd equate this to something like McDonald's. 3 star: I enjoyed my experience there and would go back to try or do more things there. 4 star: I loved it and would be excited to go back. I'd also recommend it to a friend. 5 star: A real gem of a place. A must on anyone's list.

This place is amazing!! Service was outstanding! I would come back here just for the service. Our waitress filled our coffee and water without hesitation. The pancakes are some if the best I have ever had! We had a combination plate and the Spanish omlette, both were amazing! The only downside is you smell like food when you leave, but it is so good it doesn't matter!

I had the eggs florentine. I really wanted the waffle with maple bacon tips but I guess their waffle maker was broken! Such a bummer. I was so excited for it that it may have played a role in why I wasn't completely satisfied with the eggs florentine. The eggs were psyched perfectly but could've used more seasoning. The potatoes were seasoned perfectly but could've been a bit crispier. The rest at my table really enjoyed their breakfast! I just really wish they had waffles that day!

  • Max W.

Three and a half stars because of value and convenience, but Robinwood is like the most perfectly three star quality and value you can imagine. There's a counter and table sit-down area, but most people get takeout or delivery. And that's where the value comes into play: prices are super low for what they offer, and portions are very generous. They serve and deliver all meals all times of the day, so if you want breakfast for dinner or dinner for breakfast, you can get it all delivered at 10 am. I will say that I've had a few bad experiences with ordering, such as them not seeing the Foodler order, and apparently their pizza dough is frozen so you need to call to order pizza in case by some chance they don't have any defrosted. But the breakfast - especially the pancakes and waffles - is awesome, and in a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood, the price is right.

It's like a greasy spoon without the grease. Free of pretense or any kind of vibe for that matter, just a yummy place to eat some breakfast. I had the "centre street" and sadly, there should have been two of me to eat the sizable portion of bacon, pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast, and home fries. All of those items had other options to chose from. Add my tea and orange juice and I was all in under $15 bucks. The service was nice and efficient. I think this will be my Saturday breaky place... The toddler and I will have a date while daddy sleeps. The milkshakes look scrumptious so I think that'll be on the menu for next week. Yum yum!

Breakfast was okay. Service is horrible. My husband and I came here on a Sunday morning. We ordered pancakes and when the food came out the waitress forgot to bring syrup. We asked for syrup and she then gave us a bottle that was nearly empty. So we asked for one that was full. A few minutes later, some man came to our table with a BOWL of syrup. First of all, who gives syrup in a bowl?? My husband immediately told the man that we didn't want syrup in a bowl and that we would like the regular container that is used for syrup. The man got startled and said with a high pitched tone, "OH SURE, anyhow you want it." A few minutes later the waitress came back with a full container of syrup...FINALLY. Was it that hard to get some syrup?? Did we really need to do all of that? I mean come on! Unfortunately, this will be the last time coming to this place. It has been great in the past, but moving on...

Inedible food and abhorrent service. I have thrown out sandwiches better than the ones I threw out at Robinwood. The pricing and atmosphere of this place are fine - just want to get that out of the way. The two main areas of concern for me are the staff and the food. Food first - do these people know that you can melt cheese just by increasing heat? That 1000-island dressing was just a way to get through dining hall food in college? That you can get higher-quality bread that says 'Wonder' on the side of the bag? You might be able to get some decent homefries or an omelet here - but I can think of a lot of better places around JP that you could do that. When I visited here, we brought a visiting friend from Sweden. Our waitress totally forgot his order - he was too polite to complain, but when we finally spoke up (after he was sitting, eating nothing, and looking at the waitress for half an hour), she tried to play it off like we were being funny. No, starving people who are visiting the US is neither funny nor hip. Rub the grease off your plastic personality frames and try again.

For those in search of no-frills, diner-style brunching, this place will do. Although nothing about it qualifies as spectacular, it is worth a visit, judgmental hipsters and staff aside.

Pros: Food A good variety of breakfast and lunch type of food. It has your average list of food you may find in a diner (french toast, pancakes, sandwiches, fires, etc). Plus they provide a good portion of food for the price. Price Cheap food. Nothing, other than potentially steak (don't quote me on that) is over $10. Plus they accept both cash and credit. Seating A good amount of seating for such an establishment. Location Down and Across the street from the Curly Middle School on Centre street. Even though this cafe is not located in the heart of all of the food destinations on Centre street, it has a good feel being in the middle of it all. Cons: Bathroom Only one bathroom for customers.

Ordered a burger & shake online. I specified no pickles because I personally don't like them. Not only did they screw up my order, they put pickles on it & soaked it in pickle juice (it's really really mushy). I'm now making Mac & cheese. I won't be ordering from them again.

Second review. 7th or 8th visit. Very disappointed Hit or very much a miss depending, it seems, on whose the cook and whose choosing the produce. On last visit ribs were meatless, burger was way, way over cooked and my other friend thought the salad was pathetic - her word. There's a market that end of JP for quality basic food but the current owner(s) don't seem to get that. I'll try again in 6 months.

This is my place. Seriously, I can always come here and find something to eat. And now they have hot dogs. Only seasonally, but still. Yummmmm tube meat! This is a typical greasy spoon but they try hard to be something more. Braised pork chops and home-made meatloaf sit above salmon bento and some form of curry. It's a curious juxtaposition but the quality is pretty good for a limited kitchen. It's certainly not fine dining and it's not authentic, but it's passable. I love sandwiches and Robinwood does them well. Reuben, grilled cheese, BLT... The clubs are good and come with sides, but the sandwiches are pretty sound regardless. You can also request anything as a panini. I like their shakes. Frappes. Whatever you want to call them. The green tea is actually spot on and very refreshing rather than glubby and dessert-like. I really like them, and it doesn't hurt that they have free WiFi. Hurray for getting work done while I grab a greasy bite!

We came here for the first time today (Saturday at 10am) for breakfast. We will never be going back. Things that went wrong: 1) We were seated at a table under a leaking vent that was dripping onto the chair next to me. The moment our food came out a girl with a mop came, moved our table and wiped off the vent...while the food that we waited for 30 min for (at breakfast mind you) got cold. 2) I ordered eggs cooked over medium. The eggs were (barely cooked)...I guess you could call it over easy. They were running all over my plate. Egg juice soaked into the toast & home fries. Gross! I asked the waitress for 2 eggs cooked over medium not over easy and 10min later (after my husband was done eating and the rest of my food got cold) she brought out eggs that were running all over the plate yet again. I told her that I would just eat the pancakes that came with my meal. She scurried away in a huff. She then came back to get my eggs. The cook put them back on the stove for a min or so and then they served them back to me. Burnt to the point where I would have needed a knife to cut an egg, yes an egg! 3) The check is thrown onto our table. We were charged for a tea that my husband ordered and never received. And they charged me for the breakfast that I didn't eat because everything was soaked in egg. The waitress took off the tea but not the breakfast. When I asked why I was charged for a breakfast that was not edible she acted completely offended and made no attempt at service recovery. 3) This whole breakfast experience took over an hour. Things that were good: French toast Pancakes Suffice it to say, I will not be going back!

This place looks real nice inside. Lots of wood, marble counter and table tops,. I just love the big beautiful and extravagant espresso/cappuccino machine behind the counter (see photo). There are paintings by a local artist decorating the walls. You can purchase them on consignment, but I only liked the rooster painting (see photo). I got the Spanish Omelet which was ok but, I think that simply pouring some jarred salsa over the omelet was was lazy (see photo). They can't do any better than that? And the home fries were not terrible, but they were not very good either. They tasted like the raw potatoes were cooked up without ever having had contact with anything flavorful. Please ad some onions and seasoning , anything to give it just a little zing.

The service is the only negative thing I have to say about this place. Our waitress was super nice, but I think we only saw her twice. I had to beckon her over to even take our order, and every time I needed a refill, I had to take my cup up to the guy behind the counter to get service. On the other hand, I really liked the small-town diner feel. It was really relaxed and comfortable. The food was really tasty once we actually received it! I got breakfast, and it was all cooked perfectly and yummy-especially the pancakes! I typically eat extremely healthy, and I don't regret this cheat one bit!

we were in the area so thought we would try it, nothing fantastic, prices are a little high for what you get,$ 7.99 for 2 eggs +2 pieces of french toast, thats $2.00 for each item, no homefries or toast come with it!! Had to wave down waitress for more coffee+ to get the bill, and it wasn't busy!!
